Types of paper

Time:2026-01-04
As paper and paperboard consumption is closely related to economic growth, a decline in GDP growth will have an impact on the growth of paper and paperboard consumption. We anticipate that the paper industry will continue to decline in the first half of the year, but is expected to improve with the expected warming of the overall environment in the second half.

Types of paper

Stone paper products have an extremely wide range of applications. They can be used in disposable consumer goods, such as garbage bags, shopping bags, food bags, resealable bags, meal boxes, foot covers, gloves, tablecloths, raincoats, dust covers, etc. They can also be used in cultural paper, such as printing paper, writing paper, advertising decoration paper, tissue paper, coated paper, film paper, drawing paper, poster paper, typing paper, postal envelope paper, cigarette paper, glassine paper, newsprint, etc. They can also be used in building materials decoration (such as decorative wallpaper, etc.); they can also be used in industrial packaging and other fields, such as fertilizer bags, cement bags, rice and flour bags, clothing bags, various handbags, paper boxes and cartons, etc. They can also be used in special paper applications, such as paper for field work, underwater work, underground mining work, military special paper, etc. It can be said that the application fields are very extensive, and with the continuous maturity and upgrading of stone paper-making technology, the application fields will become even broader. The cost of stone paper products is 20% to 30% lower than that of alternative products, making them quite competitive and having a very promising market prospect.

Cultural paper is less affected by economic fluctuations and has relatively stable demand; the pressure on copperplate paper comes from reduced exports and new production capacity; white cardboard is most significantly affected by the impact of new production capacity, resulting in a decline in prosperity; newsprint has yet to recover from its low point; and containerboard is significantly affected by economic fluctuations, and its decline in prosperity will continue.

Due to shrinking demand in the paper industry, high inventory, declining freight rates, and exchange rate factors, fiber raw material prices have fallen since September. Wood pulp prices have dropped by 15%, and waste paper prices have fallen by 60%. It is expected that pulp prices will stabilize after the downward shift in the center of gravity. The decline in fiber raw material prices is beneficial for enterprises to reduce costs.

The Comprehensive Work Plan for Energy Conservation and Emissions Reduction, the Industrial Policy for the Paper Industry, the new Emission Standards for Water Pollutants in the Pulp and Paper Industry, and the value-added tax reform will all be conducive to the development of the industry.

Looking ahead to China's paper industry in 2010, it will further consolidate its position as a major paper country and approach the criteria of a strong paper country in the process of globalization: the industry's average economic benefit indicators will be higher than the world average; energy consumption and environmental pollution will be lower than the world average; and export volume will reach 5% of the world's total export volume. Going global is not only the development strategy of China's paper industry for 2010, but also the inevitable result of China's paper industry striving to become stronger.
